Algae bloom in early spring at very hot temperatures

At the beginning of early spring (spring), algae are the first nutrient consumers in water. The algae begin to grow at lower water temperatures much earlier than most of the other water plants. With this early formation, there is often an explosion-like multiplication of the algae in spring. This is called as algae bloom.

In early spring, the pollen values increase and the bloom dust spreads fast. Bloom dust on the water is a confirmed food for the algae, since it offers lot of nutrients. After four to six weeks, the algae disappear again (in a biologically intact pond) till the water plants have begun to grow and take out nutrients from the water.

Measures against the Algae Bloom

The Ultrasound prevents alage formation, at normal conditions, to 90% within year. Under these extreme conditions, there is temporary algae bloom n spite of this ultrasound. The algae bloom is, however, reduced considerably, since the algae die naturally due to stress of the ultrasound tones.

It is recommended to clean the pond in early spring before the real spring, in order to remove deposits out of the pond. There are a lot of nutrients in the rubble, the previous stage of mud. Surplus fish fodder, leaves, bloom dust and garden dung washed in the pond with the rain water, also lead to surplus nutrients and finally to algae formation.

This should be avoided:

- Continuous supply of spring water, fresh water. It provides nutrients for the algae formation. Around small waterfalls, water flowing over stones, algae form& spread very fast, faster than the ultrasound can kill them.

- Fresh water from cleaning work. If you empty a pool for the purpose of cleaning or run the valuable, treated water in the waste water with the help of a pool cleaner and then fill it up with fresh water, algae form and spread very fast, even with ultrasound, again from the beginning. Fresh water provides a lot of nutrients, the bio household process of water begins again from the beginning, until few nutrients remain in the water.
